THE PERSON
My name is Xiaolin Viola Mai and I’m a China-born, LA-based photographer and creative producer.
I graduated from New York University in Media Culture and Communications, and French Studies, which might explain my particular interest in stories that deal with diverse experiences and various perspectives. I went on to study Film at ArtCenter of Design and realized that making art with creative people is what gets me out of bed every day.
I like making works that make you look, make you think, and make you feel something.
My inspiration comes from the pages of books, the beats of music, the magic of films, and the little quirks of everyday life.
